Here is a helpful video about what can and can't be recycled: Clackamas County Recycling Guide
Clackamas County recycles batteries! Button types, rechargeables, and lithium ion batteries should be wrapped in tape on both sides. AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-volt batteries do not need to be taped. Place them all in a one-quart zip-sealed bag and set them out in your glass bin for collection.
New Seasons Market collects hard-to-recycle items at their stores: New Seasons Recycling Program
There are two locations in Lake Oswego.
Lowe’s offers in-store recycling for plastic plant pots, plastic bags, CFL bulbs, and rechargeable batteries.
Wilco Farm Store in Lake Oswego (17711 Jean Way) recycles empty soil bags; bins are by the undercover area at the far side of their store.
Our Environmental Activism team collects members' styrofoam products at our monthly meetings and takes them to Green Century Recycling in NW Portland. Not only is it wonderfully convenient for our members, it also saves on fossil fuel use!
